is a writer and curator based in Brooklyn, NY. He is the co-editor of the Film section of the Brooklyn Rail, and his writing appears in Artforum, art-agenda, Cinema Scope, and Reverse Shot. He is also a Phd Candidate in the Department of Cinema Studies at New York University, and the co-author (with Robert Stam and Richard Porton) of Keywords in Subversive Film/Media Aesthetics (published by Wiley, 2015). With Rachael Rakes, he is working on a forthcoming book about the British filmmaker Peter Watkins.
